Reporters recently learned from the Nanhai inspection and quarantine bureau that the EU recently issued the twenty-sixth regulation in 2016 to limit the content of nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (NPE) in textile products. More than 100 export companies in the South China Sea, including clothing, indoor textiles, yarn and weaving production, will be affected.

According to the regulation, the content of nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (NPE) in textile products is not higher than 0.01% (100ppm).

The pitional period of the regulation is 5 years. After the expiration of the pition period, products that do not meet the requirements will not be allowed to be sold or imported in the EU market.

clothing

Textiles are important export products in the South China Sea. Data show that in the first quarter, the value of clothing and textile products exported to the South China Sea is nearly 1 billion yuan, and the EU market occupies a larger share.

The introduction of this new order will have a greater impact on clothing, interior textiles, yarn and weaving production enterprises.

NPE is a nonionic surfactant with good permeability, emulsification and dispersing properties. It is widely used in the process of cleaning, dyeing and washing in the process of textile production.

Relevant information shows that NPE is

Textile industry

The most commonly used detergents and dyeing auxiliaries account for more than 80% of China's market share.

However,

NPE

It is a globally recognized environmental hormone with persistence and bioaccumulation. Once released into the environment, it will last for a long time, and can enter the food chain, affecting the normal reproduction and development of the organism, which can lead to a decrease in the number of male sperm.

At the same time, once the textile NPE enters the environment, it will decompose into stronger toxic environmental hormone, NP (Ren Jifen), and decompose more toxic NP (Ren Jifen) and other ingredients.

The impact of the new regulation on enterprises is mainly manifested in the following aspects: first, more than half of the products will face the risk of being eliminated.

NPE is the most commonly used detergent and dyeing auxiliaries in the textile industry. At present, more than 50% of the textile products will not be able to meet the EU NPE limit requirements, especially in printing, dyeing, leather, chemical fiber and other enterprises.

Two, the cost of production and testing will be greatly improved.

Three, some textile enterprises will be released ahead of schedule.

To this end, the South China Sea inspection and Quarantine Department reminded the relevant enterprises: first, pay close attention to the implementation of the EU NPE regulations, grasp the detailed provisions of the regulations; two, adjust the process of bleaching, cooking and dyeing in a timely manner to find alternatives to meet the relevant requirements; three, strengthen the detection of NPE content of raw materials and finished products, and avoid the requirement that the EU products exceed the limit requirements. In the future, we must face this problem seriously.
