The People'S Republic Of Bangladesh

Haq, chairman of Bangladesh knitwear manufacturing and Export Association, said recently that Bangladesh became the third largest supplier of knitwear garments in the EU market after China and Turkey in the last fiscal year (July 2007 to June 2008).

Haq said that this is mainly due to the abundant cheap labor force in Bangladesh and the good late driving effect.

He said that in the last fiscal year, the total export revenue of knitted goods in Bangladesh amounted to US $5 billion 532 million, of which US $3 billion 500 million was exported to the EU market, accounting for 63.3% of our total revenue.
