EU REACH Regulation Will Be Implemented, What Should We Do?

On December 18, 2006, the Council of the European Union passed the regulation on the registration, assessment, licensing and restriction of chemicals (REACH regulation), which replaced the current 40 regulations of the European Union and became a set of unified regulations for the registration, evaluation, licensing and restriction of chemicals. Reach regulation stipulates that pre registration shall be conducted from June 1 to December 1, 2008. From January 1, 2009, unregistered or pre registered products will be prohibited from entering the EU market in stages. The regulation will have a huge impact on China's chemical industry and downstream industries such as textiles, clothing, shoes, toys and furniture, which are widely used in chemicals. In order to help Panyu enterprises understand and actively respond to reach regulations, minimize the registration obstacles caused by reach, and carry out pre registration and registration in a timely manner, a meeting on REACH regulations was held by Panyu District Bureau of quality supervision and bureau of foreign economy, and organized by Guangzhou Institute of Standardization (China WTO / TBT Guangzhou notification and consultation center) and SGS Standard Technical Service Co., Ltd It was held in Panyu district conference center on May 23. More than 100 enterprise representatives from Panyu district attended the meeting. At the meeting, the latest knowledge of reach was introduced.
