Russia Improves Textile Production Rate

Russia's textile and light industry entrepreneurs association chairman, 15, said that Russia plans to increase the share of domestic textiles in the Russian market to 50% by 2020.

Fu Ming, in the Moscow Beijing video link event held by Russian new agency on the same day, said that the Russian retail market for light industrial products currently has a share of 2~3 trillion rubles (1 US dollars or 30 rubles), but Russian made products account for only 20% to 25%, 30% of which are imported from abroad, and 50% are illegal "grey" imports.

60% of consumers choose to buy Textiles and other light industrial products in small supermarkets and open-air markets.

In response to the people's network reporter's question, Fu Ming admitted that Russian enterprises have different views on the development goal of the Russian government to raise the textile production rate to 50%.

At present, the proportion of Russian textile imports is still increasing.

But he believes that Russia's accession to the WTO will not cause serious impact on Russia's domestic textile industry.

This is because the Russian light industry market is dominated by imported products. It is a fact that after entering the WTO, the situation will not get worse. Instead, it will make imported products more standardized and help protect the inflow of legitimate light industrial products.
